'Fancy Dance' Trailer: Lily Gladstone Stars in Emotional Drama Exploring Indigenous Women's Journey

Apple Original Films has released the trailer for ‘Fancy Dance‘, a highly acclaimed film that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and marks the feature directorial debut of Erica Tremblay. The movie stars Academy Award-nominated actress Lily Gladstone, known for her role in “Killers of the Flower Moon,” alongside Isabel Deroy-Olson, Ryan Begay, Crystle Lightning, and Shea Whigham.

The film tells the story of Jax, played by Gladstone, who has been caring for her niece Roki on the Seneca-Cayuga reservation in Oklahoma after her sister’s disappearance. As Roki prepares for an upcoming powwow, Jax and Roki embark on a journey to find Roki’s mother, which evolves into a deeper investigation into the complexities faced by Indigenous women in a colonized world and a flawed justice system.

Fancy Dance is written by Erica Tremblay and Miciana Alise and produced by Deidre Backs, Erica Tremblay, Heather Rae, Nina Yang Bongiovi, and Tommy Oliver under the banner of Significant Productions and Confluential Films. It has received widespread critical acclaim, boasting a 97% average critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. The film is set to premiere in select theaters on June 21, 2024, ahead of its global debut on Apple TV+ on June 28, 2024.
