  • It serves as the sequel to Hera Pheri (2000) and the second installment of the Hera Pheri franchise.
  • The movie is inspired by the movie ‘lock stock & two smoking barrels’ starring Jason Statham.
  • This film is very much loved by the Indian online community as almost every scene in the movie is used as meme material on the internet.
  • Phir Hera Pheri was theatrically released on 9 June 2006, the film was a major commercial success, becoming the 8th highest-grosser of the year. The film received positive reviews from critics and earned 70 Crore INR at the end of its theatrical run & it was a box-office blockbuster.
  • According to the Indian trade website Box Office India, with around 10,00,000 units sold, this film’s soundtrack album was the year’s fifteenth highest-selling.
  • The film received positive reviews from critics and earned 70 Crore INR at the end of its theatrical run & it was a box-office blockbuster.
  • The song “Aye Meri Zohrajabeen” was only seen in the end title credits. The song became so popular that it was added in the movie later. The dream sequence of Rawal was added following the song.
  • Suneil Shetty was upset with his role, as he felt several of his scenes were cut. Those days there were reports that Akshay Kumar used to cut his co-star’s roles in his films, however Akshay had defended himself saying that he told the makers to cut his own song Kitne Armaan by half.
  • Original film Hera Pheri (2000)’s director Priyadarshan refused to direct the film as he felt the magic could be created only once, hence producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala decided to give writer Neeraj Vora a chance to direct the film. Coincidentally, the film released on the same day as Priyadarshan’s Chup Chup Ke (2006) but Phir Hera Pheri was a big hit and Chup Chup Ke just an average grosser.
  • For some reason, Bipasha Basu’s and Rimi Sen’s voices were dubbed by a dubbing artist. She was upset that her voice was dubbed without her knowledge.
  • In the scene where Akshay Kumar travels with Rimi Sen in BEST 4 Limited bus, the person sitting next to him, talking over the phone is none other than Neeraj Vora, the director of the film.
  • This film is also known as “The Movie With No Haters”.
  • A sequel titled Hera Pheri 3 is planned, but the production was postponed after director Neeraj Vora died on 14 December 2017 after a prolonged illness. After the response from Firoz Nadiadwala, the sequel is under production and will be released soon.
