About Bitter Sweet Hell TV Series:

Bitter Sweet Hell (Korean: 우리집) is a South Korean black comedy thriller television series written by Nam Ji-yeon, and starring Kim Hee-sun, Lee Hye-young, Kim Nam-hee, and Yeonwoo in the lead roles.

Actress Kang Hae-rim was originally confirmed to portray Lee Se-na. However, in October 2023 disclosed that the series had been temporarily suspended in August after roughly five episodes were filmed. This pause was due to a reorganization prompted by lead actress Kim Hee-sun’s commitments to her movie promotions. Additionally, the production shifted from JPX Studio to Red Nine Pictures. During this hiatus, Kang Hae-rim dropped out of the series. In January 2024, it was announced that actress Yeonwoo had joined the cast previously held by Kang Hae-rim.

Kim Seung-woo, was initially announced to participate as the creator and director of the series. In November 2023, it was revealed that the director was also changed to Lee Dong-hyun, who directed She Knows Everything (2020) and Doctor Lawyer (2022).

The film was originally scheduled for release in the second half of 2023, under its former title Gaslighting (가스라이팅; Gaseuraiting).

Bitter Sweet Hell was released on MBC TV on May 24, 2024, and aired every Friday and Saturday at 21:50 (KST).
