Henry Roth lives in a Hawaiian paradise with the company of endless women with no strings attached. This is until he meets Lucy Whitmore. Both Henry and Lucy enjoy the company of each other and feel the start of a serious relationship occurring. Approaching Lucy the next day, Henry is confused when Lucy fails to recognize him. This is the moment Henry discovers that Lucy actually suffers from short term memory loss and can’t remember each individual day. Henry won’t let this stop him and is prepared to make her fall in love with him all over again, each and every day.
About Movie:
50 First Dates is an American romantic comedy directed by Peter Segal, featuring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in the lead roles, with supporting performances by Rob Schneider, Sean Astin, Lusia Strus, Blake Clark, and Dan Aykroyd.
Initially titled Fifty First Kisses, Columbia Pictures changed the name to 50 First Dates after finding that the word “kisses” was unappealing to male audiences.
Most of the movie was filmed on location in Hawaii, including spots like Kaneohe, Kaʻaʻawa, and Honolulu in 2003.
This marked the second collaboration between Sandler and Barrymore, following The Wedding Singer, and was followed by Blended. The end credits paid tribute to Sandler’s father, Stanley, who passed away from lung cancer in 2003.
It was later remade in India as Satyabhama (2007, in Telugu) and as Ormayundo Ee Mukham (2014, in Malayalam), in Japan as 50 First Kisses (2018), in Iran as Chap dast (2005), and in Mexico as Como si fuera la primera vez (2019).
Released on February 13, 2004, 50 First Dates received mixed reviews but became a box office hit. Sandler and Barrymore won the MTV Movie Award for Best On-Screen Team. The film has been remade several times internationally, including in India, Japan, Iran, and Mexico.
