Good Boy Storyline (Plot)

The story of medalists in international competitions who decided to become police officers through the Olympic special recruitment. Instead of medals on their necks are now their police IDs as they encounter a lot of immoral and foul people. The K-drama will showcase an “Olympic Avengers,” a special team that will be dedicated to violent crimes and cases filled with injustices by utilizing their skills as a player.

About Good Boy TV Series

Good Boy (Korean: 굿보이) is an ongoing South Korean action mystery comedy television series directed by Shim Na Yeon and written by Lee Dae II. The series stars Park Bo Gum, Kim So Hyun, Oh Jung Se, Heo Sung Tae, and Lee Sang Yi in the lead roles.

Good Boy is on scheduled for production as part of Studio&NEW’s drama programming, in February 2021. The screenplay is written by Lee Dae-il, who is known for Life on Mars and both seasons of Chief of Staff, and it is produced by SLL, Studio&NEW, and Drama House Studio.

In terms of casting, initially Park Bo-gum and Oh Jung-se were announced as the leads in July 2023. Shortly after Kim So-hyun was reported around August 3 2023. Park Bo-gum and Kim So-hyun were officially confirmed as the lead actors in January 2024. Oh Jung-se, Lee Sang-yi, Heo Sung-tae and Tae Won-seok would later joined the cast in July 2024.

The first full script read took place on March 21, 2024 and filming started Shortly after, in late March. The production would go on hiatus in August for a minor leg injury to Park Bo-gum due to injuries sustained in an action scene in Busan. He would be treated in Seoul the following month before the cast resumed filming.

In December 2024, JTBC declared that Good Boy would be among its 2025 drama offerings, aiming for a release some time in the first half of the calendar year. In later January 2025, reports emerged that the series would run in June, but ultimately it has been officially confirmed to premiere on May 31, 2025. The drama will air every Saturday and Sunday at 10:40 p.m. KST on JTBC.

For streaming, Good Boy will be available globally, in addition to South Korea, on Netflix, Disney+, and TVING, while internationally air on Amazon Prime Video in 240+ countries and territories.
