Criminal is an upcoming Tamil crime thriller film written and directed by Dakshina Moorthy Ramar and starring Gautham Karthik, Janani, and R. Sarathkumar in the lead roles. It is produced by P. R. Meenakshi Soundram and IB. Karthikeyan under the banner of Parsa Pictures and Big Paint Pictures.
The film marks the directorial debut of Dakshina Moorthy Ramar.
The film was officially announced in January 2023. Principal photography began on January 23, 2023, with the first schedule in Madurai, which concluded on February 15. Filming wrapped up entirely by March 17.
