Storyline:

The film will depict a ten-year-old Prince Adam as he crashes on Earth, separating him from his Power Sword; he will eventually retrieve the sword and take on the mantle of He-Man two decades later as he battles for his home planet, Eternia, against the evil forces of Skeletor.

Masters of the Universe is an upcoming American action-adventure film directed by Travis Knight and written by Chris Butler. Produced by Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, and Steve Tisch, the film stars Nicholas Galitzine in the main role.

The film has been developing since 2007 but has gone through various studios, directors, and writers connected to the project. The film rights went from Warner Bros (2007) to Columbia Pictures (2009), to Netflix (2022), and currently to Amazon MGM Studios.

Directors John Stevenson, Jon M. Chu, Jeff Wadlow, McG, and the Nee Brothers Adam Nee and Aaron Nee were attached to the film over the years. On February 13, 2024, it was reported that Travis Knight was in final talks to direct the film.

Writers Evan Daugherty, Alex Litvak, Richard Wenk, Terry Rossio, Jeff Wadlow, David S. Goyer, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Dave Callaham were attached to script the film over the years.

Noah Centineo had signed on for the role of Adam/He-Man in 2019 but dropped out in 2021. On January 28, 2022, it was announced that Kyle Allen would be taking over the role of Prince Adam/He-Man. However, On May 29, 2024, it was announced that Nicholas Galitzine was finally cast as He-Man.

In 2007, the film was to be called “Grayskull”: Joel Silver was going to produce and Justin Marks was to write the script, and it was to be shot in a style similar to the 2006 film 300.

Masters of the Universe is scheduled to be released on June 5, 2026, by Amazon MGM Studios.
