Storyline:

Devi Lal Singh, a typical youth with an anomalous standard of living, tries to find pleasure in whatever he does. He eventually becomes a thief and dons a new name, Devil.

About Kick Movie:

Kick is a Hindi action crime comedy film starring Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead roles. The film was produced and directed by Sajid Nadiadwala in his directorial debut.

It is an official remake of the 2009 Telugu film of the same name. It was also remade from the original Telugu version into Tamil under the title ‘Thillalangadi’ in 2010. The film was made in collaboration with UTV Motion Pictures on a reported budget of ₹55 crore (US$6.6 million).

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala initially signed A. R. Murugadoss as the director, but Shirish Kunder replaced him when Murugadoss couldn’t direct the film. Jacqueline Fernandez was ultimately signed for the female lead role after considering several actresses, including Ileana D’Cruz, Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma, Sonakshi Sinha, Priyanka Chopra, and Angela Jonsson.

The film was initially supposed to be the Hindi debut of Ravi Teja who had played the lead in the Telugu version. Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan were both offered the lead role before Salman Khan but both declined due to lack of dates.

Filming began on July 27, 2013, in Scotland, where Khan shot a car crash scene and a helicopter crash scene in Glasgow. Some scenes were shot at Mehboob Studios in February 2014 and at the Film City studio in Mumbai. It is the first Indian film to make use of drones for filming action sequences.

In October 2013, during shooting outside Mumbai, the Film Studio Settings and Allied Mazdoor Union demanded wages for one and a half shifts from Sajid Nadiadwala, halting production for a week until Sajid agreed to their terms.

Kick was released on July 25, 2014, coinciding with Eid. The film grossed over ₹402 crore (US$48 million) worldwide and over ₹232 crores net domestically in India, becoming a blockbuster success and emerged as Khan’s first film to enter ₹200 Crore Club and emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of 2014.

Kick received mixed to positive reviews with praise for the humor, the performances, and the soundtrack. A sequel named Kick 2 with the same cast & crew is under development.
