About Movie:
Andhagan (also known as Andhagan The Pianist) is an upcoming Tamil crime thriller film directed by Thiagarajan. It is a remake of the 2018 Hindi film Andhadhun. The film stars Prashanth, Simran, Priya Anand, Karthik, Samuthirakani, Urvashi, Yogi Babu, K. S. Ravikumar, Vanitha Vijayakumar and Manobala.
In 2019, Thiagarajan purchased Andhadhun’s remake rights. Initially, Mohan Raja was announced as the director in the following year, but he left the project and was replaced by JJ Fredrick. After a few months, Fredrick also left, leading to Thiagarajan himself taking over as the director.
Principal photography began in March 2021 and predominantly took place in Chennai before wrapping up in November 2022.
Andhagan was released on 9 August 2024 in theatres, following production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The film received generally positive reviews and audience response, with some claiming it to be Prashanth’s long-overdue comeback.
