Storyline:
Paris, spring 1968. While most students take the lead in the May ‘revolution’, a French poet’s twin son Theo and daughter Isabelle enjoy the good life in his grand Paris home. As film buffs they meet and ‘adopt’ modest, conservatively educated Californian student Matthew. With their parents away for a month, they drag him into an orgy of indulgence of all senses, losing all of his and the last of their innocence. A sexual threesome shakes their rapport, yet only the outside reality will break it up.
About Movie:
The Dreamers (French: Innocents: The Dreamers) is an erotic romantic drama directed by Bernardo Bertolucci, with a screenplay by Gilbert Adair, adapted from his 1988 novel The Holy Innocents. The film stars Michael Pitt, Eva Green, and Louis Garrel.
Adair’s novel, which he adapted into the screenplay, was inspired by Jean Cocteau’s 1929 novel Les Enfants terribles and the 1950 film adaptation by Jean-Pierre Melville.
Released theatrically on 10 October 2003 in Italy and on December 10, 2003, in France, the film has two versions: an uncut NC-17 version and a slightly edited R-rated version, which is about three minutes shorter. The Dreamers marked Eva Green’s film debut, which is widely regarded as her breakout role.
