About Movie:

Tombstone is an American Western film directed by George P. Cosmatos, with a screenplay by Kevin Jarre, who was initially set to direct but replaced early in production. The film stars Kurt Russell as Wyatt Earp and Val Kilmer as Doc Holliday, with supporting performances by Sam Elliott, Bill Paxton, Powers Boothe, Michael Biehn, and Dana Delany. Robert Mitchum provides narration.

Set in the 1880s, the film is loosely based on real events in Southeast Arizona, such as the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and the subsequent Earp Vendetta Ride. It features historical figures like William Brocius (Curly Bill), Johnny Ringo, and the Earp brothers.

Shot mainly in Arizona, Tombstone began filming in May 1993 and was released in the U.S. on December 25, 1993. The movie grossed $73.2 million worldwide, making it a financial success and one of the highest-grossing Westerns since 1979. While the similarly themed Wyatt Earp (1994) underperformed, Tombstone was praised for its direction, story, and acting, with Val Kilmer’s portrayal of Doc Holliday receiving standout recognition. The film has since become a cult classic.
