About Movie:
Khamoshiyan is a Hindi romantic thriller horror film directed by Karan Darra in his directorial debut and written by Vikram Bhatt. The film was produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt under the Vishesh Films banner.
Khamoshiyan was initially scheduled for release on January 23, 2015, but was postponed to January 30, 2015. The film was shot in various locations, including South Africa, due to flooding in Kashmir during production. The music for the film was composed by Jeet Ganguly, Ankit Tiwari, and others, contributing significantly to its atmosphere.
Upon release, Khamoshiyan received mixed reviews from critics. While some praised its music and performances, particularly those of Ali Fazal and Sapna Pabbi, others criticized its clichéd plot and lack of coherence. The film grossed approximately ₹19.50 crore (around US$2.3 million) at the box office and was declared “average” by Box Office India.
Overall, Khamoshiyan is remembered for its attempt to blend romance with horror elements but faced challenges in execution and storytelling. It serves as an example of the evolving landscape of Indian horror cinema while highlighting the importance of strong narratives alongside atmospheric music.
