Storyline:

Two years after the life-altering events in Grease (1978), Sandy’s cousin Michael, a straight-laced English student, is the new guy at Rydell High. Stephanie, the Pink Ladies’ foxy blonde leader, is about to break up with Johnny, the T-Birds’ leader, but she still likes her men dangerous, even as Michael starts to attract her attention. Now Michael needs to up his game: learn how to ride a motorcycle and transform himself into Stephanie’s hot leather-clad fantasy. Is he up to the task?

About Movie:

Grease 2 is an American musical romantic comedy and standalone sequel to the 1978 film Grease. Directed and choreographed by Patricia Birch, who also worked on the original stage production and film, the movie was produced by Allan Carr and Robert Stigwood. Initially titled More Grease, it was adapted from the 1971 musical by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.

The film stars Maxwell Caulfield and Michelle Pfeiffer in breakthrough roles and was intended to be the second in a planned Grease franchise of four films and a TV series, with future installments set in the 1960s and counterculture era.

However, due to Grease 2‘s underwhelming box office performance, grossing $15 million against an $11 million budget compared to the original’s $132 million, the sequels were canceled. Caulfield reportedly lobbied to rename the film Son of Grease, but the title remained unchanged.

Filming took place in the fall of 1981 at locations including Excelsior High School in Norwalk, California, over 58 days, with an incomplete script when production began.

Released on June 11, 1982, the film was met with mostly negative reviews, but despite its commercial disappointment, Grease 2 has since gained a loyal fan base.
