Storyline:
Set against the backdrop of frequent bandhs (general strikes) that disrupt life in post-conflict Nepal, Highway follows a diverse group of passengers on a bus traveling from eastern Nepal to the capital, Kathmandu. The film interweaves five different stories of the characters, each with their own personal struggles and aspirations.
As the bus journey unfolds, the passengers are forced to confront their individual challenges while waiting for a resolution to the strike blocking their route. The film uses this setting as a metaphor for the broader societal issues faced by Nepalese people, exploring themes of resilience, hope, and the complexities of human relationships.
