About One Battle After Another Movie:

One Battle After Another is an American action thriller film written, produced, and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson. The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor, and Chase Infiniti in her film debut.
In June 2023, rumors circulated about the cast, including Joaquin Phoenix, Viggo Mortensen, and Regina Hall, before Warner Bros. Pictures secured the project. By January 2024, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, and Hall were officially confirmed, with DiCaprio reportedly earning $20 million for his role. In February 2024, additional cast members, including Alana Haim, Teyana Taylor, Wood Harris, Shayna McHayle, and Chase Infiniti, joined the production.
Filming began in California by January 22, 2024, under the working title BC Project. The crew shot for eleven days in locations across Humboldt County, including Eureka, Arcata, Cutten, and Trinidad. On February 3, the production moved to Sacramento, filming at the Sacramento County Administration Building and Courthouse.
That month, sources indicated the film had been titled The Battle of Baktan Cross as rumors circulated that it was loosely inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel Vineland; Anderson previously adapted Pynchon’s Inherent Vice (2009) into a feature film in 2014.
The project sparked some controversy when a homeless encampment was cleared to make way for filming. Later, in June 2024, the production filmed on location in El Paso, Texas. The film was shot using 35 mm film and VistaVision cameras.
he film is scheduled to be released on September 26, 2025, and will be the first of Anderson’s films to be released in IMAX. It was previously set to be released on August 8, 2025, but was moved for a potential awards season run.
