Storyline:

When a beloved varsity quarterback disappears during the “Satanic Panic” of the late 1980s, a struggling high school heavy metal band of outcasts realize they can capitalize on the town’s sudden interest in the occult by building a reputation as a Satanic metal band, until a bizarre series of murders, kidnappings, and reported “supernatural activity” triggers a leather-studded witch hunt that leads directly back to them.—Peacock

About Series:

In August 2022, it was announced that Peacock had given a straight-to-series order for Hysteria!, a dramatic thriller set during the Satanic panic of the 1980s, written by Matthew Scott Kane. Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley were set to direct and executive produce the series, with Jordan Vogt-Roberts directing the premiere episode. David A. Goodman was appointed as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.

The first season, consisting of eight episodes, premiered on October 18, 2024, on Peacock. The series premiere also aired on Syfy and USA Network on the same day, with subsequent episodes continuing to air on USA Network every Friday thereafter.
