The film initially known under the full title Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital was directed by Kerwin Go and produced under Reality MM Studios, Inc. It has Kerwin Go, Dustin Celestino, and Leovic Arceta as its writers. Immerse Entertainment is also involved in the production.

The film is an adaptation of the 2018 South Korean film Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum. Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital dubbed as the Philippines’ very first meta found footage horror film, local audiences and critics-alike are already looking forward to the release of the film. Following the format of the Korean original, the group of Filipino amateur ghosthunters will explore the notorious Xinglin General Hospital in Tainan, which is reputed to be one of the most haunted places in Taiwan.

It was among the first five entries of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival announced on July 16, 2024; all of which were submitted as scripts.
