Storyline:

Varshangalkku Shesham is a tale about two artistic individuals Murali and Venu, whose dreams and destinies intertwine and bring them together.

About Movie:

On 13 July 2023, Vineeth Sreenivasan announced his second collaboration with producer Visakh Subramaniam of Merryland Cinemas, following the success of Hridayam (2022). Titled Varshangalkku Shesham, the film reunites Pranav Mohanlal and Kalyani Priyadarshan from their previous project. Vineeth described the story as centering on a group of friends.

Principal photography began on 26 October 2023, with filming relocating to Aroor the next day. Art director Nimesh Thanur constructed elaborate sets in Aroor, replicating Kodambakkam and Madras film studios, while additional scenes were shot in Coimbatore and Pollachi. The sets, including Swami’s Lodge, took two months to build, with director Priyadarshan contributing key design inputs.

The first schedule concluded in late November after 23 days of shooting. Nivin joined the second schedule in Munnar in early December. Filming wrapped on 20 December 2023, spanning 40 days, over 50 locations, and involving more than 200 crew members. Though the film is set in 1970s and 1980s Chennai, it was not shot in the city.

Dubbing began in early January 2024 in Chennai and was completed within the month, followed by final editing. Audio mixing was finalized by March 2024.

Varshangalkku Shesham was released worldwide on 11 April 2024 during the Ramadan and Vishu weekend, alongside Aavesham and Jai Ganesh. The release date was announced via a first-look poster shared by director Karan Johar in December 2023. Merryland Cinemas distributed the film in Kerala, Phars Film handled overseas distribution, and Sakthi Film Factory secured Tamil Nadu rights.

The film began streaming on SonyLIV on 7 June 2024.
