About The Snowman Series:
The Snowman is a British animated television film and symphonic poem based on Raymond Briggs’s 1978 picture book of the same name. Directed by Dianne Jackson for Channel 4, it first aired on December 26, 1982, and quickly became a beloved holiday classic. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film at the 55th Academy Awards and won a BAFTA TV Award.
In 2012, a sequel titled The Snowman and the Snowdog was released, continuing the enchanting story introduced in the original film. The Snowman remains a timeless piece that captures the magic of childhood imagination and the spirit of Christmas.
