Fear Street: Prom Queen is an American slasher film directed by Matt Palmer from a screenplay he co-wrote with Donald McLeary, based on the novel The Prom Queen (1992) from the Fear Street book series.

This film is the fourth installment in the Fear Street film series. It stars India Fowler, Suzanna Son, Fina Strazza, David Iacono, Ella Rubin, Chris Klein, Ariana Greenblatt, Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston.

In July of 2022, R. L. Stine revealed that there were talks of future films beyond the original Fear Street trilogy. By October of 2023, he confirmed more Fear Street projects were being created. This was also confirmed by Scott Stuber, the head of Netflix’s film production, confirmed that the next project would be a stand-alone film based on Stine’s Fear Street book series. In January of 2024, Stine confirmed that the project was now official, and it would be an adaptation of The Prom Queen from the series.

Principal photography began in Toronto on March 25, 2024, continued into Hamilton and wrapped on May 14.

As students at Shadyside High are preparing for the 1988 prom, the “It Girls” are fighting to get support to be voted Prom Queen. As an unusual nominee emerges in the race, some of the other candidates begin to vanish without a trace.
