About Reagan Movie:

Reagan is an American biographical historical drama film, based on Paul Kengor’s 2006 book The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism. The film was directed by Sean McNamara and written by Howard Klausner.

The film stars Dennis Quaid as President Ronald Reagan, with supporting roles played by Penelope Ann Miller, Robert Davi, Lesley-Anne Down, Nick Searcy, C. Thomas Howell, Kevin Dillon, Mena Suvari, and Jon Voight.

In 2010, producer Mark Joseph announced plans to produce a feature film biopic of Ronald Reagan, inspired by his dissatisfaction with the miniseries The Reagans. Initially, screenwriter Jonas McCord was uninterested in the project but later changed his mind, recognizing the dramatic potential in exploring Reagan’s childhood and formative years.

Principal photography for the film began on September 9, 2020, with Guthrie, Oklahoma, serving as one of the primary filming locations. However, on October 22, 2020, production was temporarily halted after several crew members tested positive for COVID-19 amid the ongoing pandemic. Filming eventually resumed on November 5, 2020.

Reagan was theatrically released in the United States on August 30, 2024. In the United States and Canada, Reagan is set to be released alongside AfrAId, Slingshot, 1992, and City of Dreams.
