About Movie:

Aagadu is a Telugu action-comedy that packs a punch, directed by the renowned Srinu Vaitla. With a script crafted by the talented trio Anil Ravipudi, Upendra Madhav, and Praveen Varma, the film was brought to life by producers Ram Achanta, Gopi Achanta, and Anil Sunkara under the 14 Reels Entertainment banner.

Leading the star-studded cast is the ever-charismatic Mahesh Babu, alongside Tamannaah Bhatia and Sonu Sood. Supporting roles are played by industry stalwarts like Rajendra Prasad, Ashish Vidyarthi, Nassar, and the comedic genius Brahmanandam. The film also marked a milestone for Thaman S, who composed his 50th film score, with K. V. Guhan behind the camera and M. R. Varma handling the editing.

In Aagadu, Mahesh Babu shines as Shankar, a no-nonsense encounter specialist who takes charge as the circle inspector in Bukkapatnam. His mission: to halt the construction of a power plant spearheaded by the ruthless crime boss Damodar, portrayed by Sonu Sood. As Shankar digs deeper, he uncovers a personal vendetta—Damodar was behind the tragic death of his brother Bharath, setting the stage for a gripping tale of revenge.

Filming commenced on 28 November 2013 and wrapped up by 5 September 2014, with Hyderabad serving as the primary backdrop. The production also ventured to Mumbai, Gujarat, Ballari, Kerala, and even Ladakh, Switzerland, and Ooty for its vibrant song sequences. After a 50-day post-production marathon, the film was ready for its global release on 19 September 2014.

Though Aagadu generated a mix of praise and criticism, it struggled at the box office, unable to recover its hefty ₹65 crore budget. Despite this, it remains a noteworthy entry in the careers of its cast and crew, showcasing the quintessential blend of action and comedy that Telugu cinema is known for.
