Storyline:
Ally, who uses the stage name Ally the Disappearer, refers to herself, at least to those within her social circle, as an illusionist rather than a magician as she doesn’t actually believe in magic. That stance is even more pronounced at this time of year in the approach to Christmas in considering Christmas magic a pure fantasy, especially as she doesn’t like Christmas. Regardless, her manager, Pat, believes she should incorporate some reference to Christmas magic in her shows, something Ally resists. Her renown may hit a new level with what she hopes will be a successful Christmas show in Las Vegas, she doing a highly publicized warm-up event in the small town of Miracle, CO, it billing itself the home of Christmas magic. Despite many of the townsfolk losing that sense of Christmas magic, Ally gets a sense of some sort of hocus pocus plaguing her in Miracle as a freak storm ends up snowing her in. Even after the storm clears and the streets plowed, there ends up being an immovable mound of ice on the bridge blocking the only road in and out of town threatening her making it to Vegas for that potentially career altering show. Even with the help of the town’s biggest booster, Tim Cosgrove, who does believe in the magic of Miracle, no matter what she does, those magic forces of Miracle seem to be keeping her there. With that help from Tim, Ally comes to believe that what she needs to do for the magic forces of Miracle to remove that ice block is to put on a second show in Miracle to help the townsfolk get that spirit of magic back. What she may not realize is that it is the issue that made her lose her own sense of the spirit of Christmas which is the biggest block.
