About Movie:
Alien vs. Predator (stylized as AVP: Alien vs. Predator) is a science fiction action horror film directed and written by Paul W. S. Anderson, starring Sanaa Lathan, Raoul Bova, Lance Henriksen, Ewen Bremner, Colin Salmon, and Tommy Flanagan. It serves as the first installment of the Alien vs. Predator franchise, the fifth film in the Alien series, and the third in the Predator series. The film adapts the crossover concept of the Alien and Predator creatures, originally introduced in a 1989 comic book by Randy Stradley and Chris Warner.
The story, written by Anderson, incorporates elements from the Alien series by Dan O’Bannon and Ronald Shusett, who received additional story credits. Anderson and Shane Salerno developed the screenplay, drawing inspiration from Aztec mythology, the comic book series, and the works of Erich von Däniken. In the film, a team of scientists becomes trapped in an ancient pyramid and finds themselves in the midst of a deadly conflict between the Aliens and Predators.
Released theatrically on August 12, 2004, Alien vs. Predator was met with generally negative reviews but grossed $177.4 million worldwide against a budget of $60–70 million. A direct sequel, Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, followed in 2007.
