About Movie:
Apartment 7A is an American horror thriller film directed by Natalie Erika James and starring Julia Garner, Jim Sturgess, Dianne Wiest, Kevin McNally, and Marli Siu.
The film is intended to serve as a prequel to Rosemary’s Baby (1968), making it the third film and fourth installment in the Rosemary’s Baby franchise. The plots and characters are based on the 1968 adaptation of Ira Levin’s 1967 novel of the same name.
In 2008, producers Michael Bay, Andrew Form, and Brad Fuller began developing a remake of Rosemary’s Baby (1968), but the project was shelved later that year. In March 2021, it was announced that Natalie Erika James would direct the psychological thriller Apartment 7A.
Principal photography for the film started on March 15, 2022, in London, and wrapped up by June 4. Later that month, Bloody Disgusting revealed that the film was secretly a prequel to Rosemary’s Baby, based on Ira Levin’s 1967 novel. In August, the Writers Guild of America confirmed the film’s final writing credits, affirming its connection to Levin’s work. Reshoots occurred in April and May 2023.
Apartment 7A premiered at Fantastic Fest on September 20, 2024, before being released simultaneously on Paramount+ and on digital video on demand on September 27.
