Storyline:

Myra Devekar is an aspiring director who has a fallout with her director. She gets the support of her producer and is given a task by him to come up with a gripping gangster biopic flick infested with heavy dosage of violence.

Myra gets an idea that will `kill two birds with one stone` by making a biopic on a real life gangster! Satisfying the producers need for commercialism and her hunger for making a realistic film. Her extensive research only leads to one name, the most menacing, one eyed `Bachchan Pandey` of Baagwa, a ruthless gangster surrounded by quirky yet scary henchmen. Myra discreetly tries her best to find out about Bachchan Pandey, with the help of an old friend who resides in Baagwa, so that he can help gather more information to develop a film script, but fails miserably in all her attempts. However when she finally gets the chance to gain an insight into Bachchan`s life and ends up getting caught by Bachchan Pandey. What happens next in this twist of tales takes us on a roller coaster ride.

About Movie:

Bachchhan Paandey a Hindi action-comedy film directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, features a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, and Jacqueline Fernandez. Supporting roles are played by Pankaj Tripathi, Prateik Babbar, Sanjay Mishra, and Abhimanyu Singh. This film is an official remake of the 2014 Tamil movie Jigarthanda, which was itself inspired by the 2006 South Korean film A Dirty Carnival.

The film’s principal photography was initially set to start in May 2020, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 lockdown in India. Pre-production resumed in October 2020, and filming eventually began on 6 January 2021 in Jaisalmer. The production wrapped up in July 2021.

Initially announced in July 2019 with a Christmas 2020 release date, the film was postponed several times—first to 22 January 2021, at Aamir Khan’s request to avoid a clash with Laal Singh Chaddha, and then due to COVID-19 delays, to 26 January 2022, and finally to 4 March 2022. Bachchhan Paandey was ultimately released in theaters on 18 March 2022, coinciding with Holi.

The film became available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video starting 15 April 2022, with satellite rights acquired by Zee Cinema.
