Bhool Chuk Maaf Movie Storyline
Set in Varanasi, the film revolves around Ranjan, a hopeless romantic who secures a government job to marry his girlfriend, Titli Mishra. As they prepare for their wedding, a bizarre time loop occurs, with Titli being oblivious to it, repeatedly resetting the day to the Haldi ceremony, leaving Ranjan stuck in the frustrating world of a time loop.

Bhool Chuk Maaf is a Hindi fantasy comedy-drama film written and directed by Karan Sharma. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film stars Rajkummar Rao, and Wamiqa Gabbi in the lead roles.
In April 2024, Maddock Films officially announced its lineup for 2024 and 2025, including this project. The film was officially announced on February 18, 2025, with the release of a teaser video.
This marks Rajkummar Rao’s latest collaboration with Maddock Films, following his work on Made in China (2019), Roohi (2021), Hum Do Hamare Do (2021), Stree (2018) and Stree 2 (2024). For director Karan Sharma, this is his second collaboration with Maddock Films after the upcoming romantic drama Shiddat 2, which stars Wamiqa Gabbi opposite Sunny Kaushal.
On 2 January 2024, Rao and Gabbi arrived in Varanasi to commence shooting. On 29 March 2025, they filmed a sequence at a studio in Mira Road, where a set resembling a small-town street was built for a lively promotional song. This track, composed by Tanishk Bagchi, features choreography by Vijay Ganguly and styling by Sheetal Sharma. Another song was filmed in Varanasi in mid-April.
The film is being distributed internationally by Yash Raj Films, making it the second Maddock Films production—after Chhaava (2025)—to receive international distribution from YRF.
The trailer was released on 10 April 2025, at a press conference in Mumbai. On April 25, 2025, a promo event for the film was held at Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur, featuring RajKummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. The event involved the duo promoting the film in Lucknow. On April 30, 2025, they appeared on the set of Hip Hop India Season 2.
Bhool Chuk Maaf Movie Release Date
Bhool Chuk Maaf was set to be released in theaters on 9 May 2025. However it was delayed to 16 May 2025 for a direct to streaming release on Amazon Prime Video where the producers cited the reason being the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict. Once over 5000 tickets sold out through ticket sales from box office and online sales totaling over Rs 3 crores in ticket sales it caused backlash from distributors and exhibitors. This led to PVR and INOX to sue Maddock Films for cancelling the theatrical release at the last minute and going to a digital platform alleging that the cancellation caused significant losses.
On 9 May 2025, the Bombay High Court ordered suited for PVR INOX and restricted Maddock Films from releasing the film on any streaming or non-theatrical platform until the 8 week holdback elapsed after it’s first theatrical release in India.
On 14 May 2025, Maddock Films and PVR INOX mutually decided the film would have a theatrical release in theatres on 23 May 2025, and after two weeks of theatrical run, it began streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 6 June 2025.
