Bhool Chuk Maaf OTT Release Date: When and where to watch Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer sci-fi romantic comedy online
The highly anticipated Maddock sci-fi romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf is finally set to hit theatres on May 23, 2024. Written and directed by Karan Sharma, it marks his second collaboration with Maddock Films after the upcoming romantic drama Shiddat 2, in which Wamiqa Gabbi stars opposite Sunny Kaushal.
The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, in association with Amazon MGM Studios in its Indian film debut. In April 2024, Maddock Films officially announced its lineup for 2024 and 2025, including this project.
Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi will star in lead roles. This film marks Rao’s sixth collaboration with Maddock Films, with Stree, Made in China, Roohi, Hum Do Hamare Do, and Stree 2 to name a few.
Seema Pahwa also has a significant role in the film. In February 2025, reports confirmed that Jay Thakkar also joined the film. Mishra, Zakir Hussain, and Raghubir Yadav also appear in the film in key roles.
The first teaser was released on 18 February 2025. On 10 April 2025, the trailer was launched in a press conference held in Mumbai.

Originally, the film was to be released in theaters on 9 May 2025. However, it was rescheduled to 16 May 2025 for a direct-to-streaming release on Amazon Prime Video, citing the 2025 India–Pakistan conflict as the reason. After selling over 5000 tickets through ticket sales at booking counters and online outlets, at over Rs 3 crores in ticket sales, it resulted in a backlash from distributors and film exhibitors.
As a result, PVR INOX has sued Maddock Films for cancelling the theatrical release at the last minute and moving it to a digital platform, claiming that the last-minute cancellation has caused them considerable financial damage.
On 9 May 2025, the Bombay High Court granted ad-interim relief to PVR INOX and restrained Maddock Films from releasing the film on streaming and any non-theatrical platform till the eight-week holdback period expired after it first releases theatrically in India.
On 14 May 2025, Maddock Films and PVR INOX mutually agreed that the film will now release theatrically on 23 May 2025 and after the first two weeks of its theatrical run, will be available streaming on Amazon Prime Video from 6 June 2025.

Set in Varanasi, the film revolves around Ranjan, a hopeless romantic who secures a government job to marry his girlfriend, Titli Mishra. As they prepare for their wedding, a bizarre time loop occurs, with Titli being oblivious to it, repeatedly resetting the day to the Haldi ceremony, leaving Ranjan stuck in the frustrating world of a time loop.
