Disha Patani is an Indian actress who primarily works in Hindi films. Patani began her acting career with the Telugu film Loafer (2015), and had her first Hindi film release with the biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016), for which she won the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Female.
After appearing in the Chinese action comedy Kung Fu Yoga (2017), Patani has played the leading lady in the films Baaghi 2 (2018), Malang (2020), and Ek Villain Returns (2022). She has appeared in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list of 2019.

Her father, Jagadish Singh Patani is a police officer and her mother is a health inspector. Her elder sister, Khushboo Patani is a lieutenant in Indian Army. She also has a younger brother, Suryansh Patani.
She studied engineering at Amity University, Lucknow. She was the first runner-up of Pond’s Femina Miss India Indore 2013.

Disha Patani Career:
Disha Patani made her debut in the 2015 Telugu film “Loafer,” playing the role of Mouni. The film, directed by Puri Jagannadh and produced by C. Kalyan, had a budget of ₹20 crore but underperformed at the box office, collecting ₹10.6 crore. In 2016, she appeared in the music video “Befikra” with Tiger Shroff, produced by T-Series, marking her entry into the industry.
Her breakthrough came with Neeraj Pandey‘s “M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story” (2016), a biographical sports film about the life of MS Dhoni. Portraying the character Priyanka Jha, Patani received acclaim for her performance. The film was a massive hit, grossing around ₹216 crore (US$27 million), and she won the Star Debut of the Year Female at the 18th IIFA Awards. Disha Patani also starred in Jackie Chan’s “Kung Fu Yoga (2017),” along with Sonu Sood.
Following this, she featured in Baaghi 2 (2018), a sequel to the 2016 film, alongside Tiger Shroff. Directed by Ahmed Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film received mixed reviews, with praise for its action sequences. In June 2019, Disha Patani had a brief appearance in the action drama film Bharat, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. The movie received positive reviews and grossed ₹325.58 crore, establishing itself as a commercial success. In 2020, she starred in the action thriller “Malang” opposite Aditya Roy Kapur, earning praise for her performance and contributing to the film’s commercial success with ₹84.50 crore worldwide. In March 2020, she appeared in a song in the film “Baaghi 3.”
Patani reunited with Salman Khan in Prabhu Deva‘s action film “Radhe,” released on Eid al-Fitr in 2021. Despite receiving negative reviews for the story, screenplay, direction, and VFX, it became a significant OTT success with 4.2 million views on the day of release.
In 2022, she starred in Mohit Suri’s psychological thriller “Ek Villain Returns” alongside John Abraham, Tara Sutaria, and Arjun Kapoor. The film received mixed reviews and had a moderate performance at the box office.
Disha Patani finished shooting for Karan Johar‘s “Yodha” opposite Sidharth Malhotra and signed her Tamil debut film “Kanguva” alongside Suriya.
