About Movie:
Bloodshot is an American superhero film based on the Valiant Comics character of the same name, marking the intended first installment in a Valiant Comics shared cinematic universe. Directed by David S. F. Wilson, with a screenplay by Jeff Wadlow and Eric Heisserer, the film stars Vin Diesel as the titular character, alongside Eiza González, Sam Heughan, Toby Kebbell, and Guy Pearce.
In March 2015, Columbia Pictures acquired the film rights to Bloodshot, with Original Film and Valiant Entertainment producing. A month later, Sony Pictures announced a five-film deal to adapt Valiant Comics’ superheroes for the big screen, including Bloodshot.
Principal photography started on August 6, 2018, in Cape Town, South Africa, with additional filming in Prague and Budapest, Hungary. Production wrapped on October 25, 2018.
Bloodshot premiered at the Regency Village Theatre in Los Angeles on March 10, 2020, and was released in U.S. theaters on March 13. Unfortunately, the film’s release coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in global theater closures.
The movie grossed $37.3 million worldwide, but Sony quickly pivoted, releasing it on video on demand within two weeks. Bloodshot received mixed-to-negative reviews, with critics praising the action sequences and visual effects, but finding fault in Diesel’s performance.
