About Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev Movie:

  • Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev (Brahmāstra 2) is an upcoming Hindi fantasy action-adventure film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.
  • Brahmāstra: Part One – Dev serves as the second installment of a planned trilogy, which is itself planned to be part of a cinematic universe titled Astraverse. The first installment Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva was released on 9 September 2022.
  • Pre-production work on the second part started during the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Mukerji wrote, “After absorbing all the love and feedback on Part One… I have been focused on creating the vision for Part Two and Part Three- which I now know will be bigger and more ambitious than Part One. I have learnt that we need a little more time to perfect the script of Brahmastra Two and Three!” He added that he will also direct a “very special movie” but did not give out much detail about the same.
  • Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev is slated to release in December 2026.
  • It was reported that the production budget for the film ₹410 crore (US$51 million), which would make it one of the most expensive Indian films and the most expensive Hindi film ever at the time of its release. However, the lead actor Ranbir Kapoor later clarified that the reported budget was for production of all three main installments of the franchise, and the assets built during the production of the first film will be used in future installments.
  • After that, Brahmāstra: Part Three will be serving as the third installment of the trilogy. It is slated to release in December 2027. Both sequels will be shot simultaneously.
