Storyline:
The film follows Shankar, an adventurous young man who embarks on a thrilling journey to Africa in search of diamonds. His expedition leads him to the mysterious mountains where he faces numerous challenges, including wild animals and hostile environments. Chander Pahar is a Bengali action-adventure film directed by Kamaleshwar Mukherjee and produced by Mahendra Soni and Shrikant Mohta under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. The film is based on the novel Chander Pahar by Bengali author Bibhutibhushan Bandyopadhyay and stars Dev in the lead role as Shankar.
Chander Pahar was released theatrically on December 20, 2013. The trailer was launched on Children’s Day of the same year at Nicco Park in Kolkata.
Upon its release, Chander Pahar received critical acclaim and was praised for its engaging storyline, visual effects, and Dev’s performance. It became one of the most successful films in Bengali cinema, earning recognition as Dev’s most memorable work.
