Storyline:

The Director of Dangal takes you to the world that is full of exuberance and fun that a hostel and college life has to offer. A world where one meets interesting characters, shares great times and becomes friends for life. Anni and Maya’s these friends are Sexa, Derek, Mummy, Acid and Bevda, each one as unique as his name. Together the group takes you on a journey that is hilarious yet so true. About Chhichhore Movie:

Chhichhore is a Hindi comedy-drama film directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma, Naveen Polishetty, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Tushar Pandey, and Saharsh Kumar Shukla in the lead roles.

The film marks the first and last collaboration between Shraddha Kapoor and Sushant Singh Rajput.

The film was written by Tiwari, Piyush Gupta, and Nikhil Mehrotra and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala under Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, with Fox Star Studios acquiring the distribution rights.

The film was inspired by writer-director Nitesh Tiwari’s own experiences as a metallurgical engineering student at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. Depicted in the film as the ‘National College of Technology,’ it features character sketches loosely based on Tiwari himself as protagonist Aniruddha Pathak, as well as some of his closest friends and seniors. Though not completely biographical, it reflects Tiwari’s college life.

Principal photography of the film began on September 30, 2018, and the first schedule was wrapped on October 30, 2018. The second schedule started on November 14, 2018, and wrapped on December 15, 2018. Major portions of the film were shot at IIT Bombay. Professional players and coaches were hired to train the actors for various sports in the film.

Chhichhore marks Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film released while he was alive as well as his final theatrical release.

Chhichhore was released on September 6, 2019, by Fox Star Studios. The film received widespread critical and commercial acclaim for its direction, storyline, dialogues, humor, performances of the ensemble cast, social message, and portrayal of hostel life in Indian colleges. It was released on Video on demand on Hotstar on November 1, 2019.

This was the 11th highest-grossing Bollywood movie of 2019 as well as the highest-grossing movie of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Chhichhore earned ₹215 crores (₹2150 million/$28 million) worldwide to emerge as a blockbuster, it went on to receive the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 67th National Film Awards announced in 2021. It also received five nominations at the 65th Filmfare Awards – Best Film, Best Director for Tiwari, Best Story, Best Dialogue, and Best Editing.

Chhichhore grossed ₹6.92 crores (₹69.2 million) on the first day of its release. The lifetime gross of the movie from India is ₹172.64 crores (₹1726.40 million) and approximately 31 crores ($4.35 million/₹309.93 million) from overseas market, taking it worldwide gross to ₹203.63 crores (₹2036.3 million).

The film was released in China on January 7, 2022, where it performed poorly, grossing only ₹22.52 crores ($3.01 million), becoming the lowest-grossing Indian film in China.
