About Dept. Q Series
Dept. Q is a soon-to-be released British crime thriller television series, created by Scott Frank, based on the literary series by Jussi Adler-Olsen. It will premiere on 29 May 2025.
On April 27, 2023, Scott Frank was going to create a television (eight episodes) English-language adaptation of Jussi Adler-Olsen’s Department Q book series, with Frank co-writing with Chandni Lakhani, and Left Bank Pictures producing the show for Netflix. On February 6, 2024, it was revealed that Stephen Greenhorn and Colette Kane would also be writing with Frank and Lakhani, with Frank directing the first 2 episodes.
On February 6, 2024, Matthew Goode, Chloe Pirrie, Alexej Manvelov, Leah Byrne, Kelly Macdonald, Mark Bonnar, Shirley Henderson, Jamie Sives and Kate Dickie were cast in the series.
The series was scheduled to shoot in Edinburgh, Scotland on April 27, 2023. Filming took place in Edinburgh between February and June 2024.
