Storyline:
Women’s right to vote is the result of years of struggle by women and a fundamental milestone in the history of Colombian democracy. In this chamber film, we can follow the axes of the discussion very well by focusing on the climax of the political debates that led to the final decision. Like a courtroom film, we can see how the protagonists face the despotic and contemptuous attitude of men, and with great intelligence and strategy, they carry out their proposal. Julieth Restrepo embodies Esmeralda Arboleda’s strength of character very well and makes us experience first-hand all the difficulties she must face to defend women’s rights on a personal and legal level.
