About Movie:
Fanaa is a Hindi romantic drama thriller directed by Kunal Kohli and produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film stars Aamir Khan and Kajol in lead roles, with Rishi Kapoor, Kirron Kher, Tabu, and Sharat Saxena in supporting roles.
Fanaa was one of the most expensive Bollywood films at the time of its release. The title is derived from the Islamic Sufi term fanaa, meaning “destroyed.” This film marked the first romantic pairing of Khan and Kajol, although they had previously collaborated in the 1997 film Ishq. It also represented Kajol’s return to the screen after her last appearance in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham… (2001).
Released on May 26, 2006, Fanaa grossed over ₹1.03 billion at the box office against a production and marketing budget of ₹300 million, making it the sixth highest-grossing Hindi film of the year. Despite facing a ban in Gujarat due to protests against Khan’s comments regarding the state government, the film emerged as a major commercial success.
