Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is an upcoming American horror mystery thriller film directed by Emma Tammi, from a story he co-wrote with Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback. It is a sequel to the 2023 film Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Elizabeth Lail, Josh Hutcherson, Matthew Lillard, and Piper Rubio will reprise their role from the previous film.

In August 2018, Scott Cawthon mentioned that if the first film were successful, a second film could follow the events of the second game. In January 2024, despite Blumhouse’s vice president of feature film development, Ryan Turek, claiming that a sequel had not yet been green-lit, Josh Hutcherson revealed that the sequel was in development.

In April 2024, Blumhouse officially confirmed the sequel, which is set for release in the fall of 2025. Additionally, Jim Henson’s Creature Shop will return to design the animatronics for the film.

The sequel, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, is scheduled to be released on December 5, 2025, by Universal Pictures.
