‘Gaun Aayeko Bato’ Teaser: Dayahang Rai Starrer Film Traveled Toronto International Film Festival (tiff) to Theatre
The most anticipated Nepali film ‘Gaun Aayeko Bato‘ (गाउॅं आएको बाटो) also known as A Road to a Village official teaser is out now. Directed by Nabin Subba and co-written with Mahesh Rai. It stars Dayahang Rai, Pashupati Rai, Prasan Rai, and Prem Subba.
The film delves into the aspirations and challenges of Malia (Dayahang Rai), a skilled basket weaver, alongside his wife Maili (Pashupati Rai), and their son Bindre (Prasan Rai). With the arrival of a connecting road to their village, what initially seems like a boon unravels into a series of unexpected hurdles as modern amenities and changes flood in. Amidst this rapidly changing landscape, Malia and Maili navigate the complexities of survival in a world that outpaces their ability to adapt.
The film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Canada on September 7, 2023. It will be theatrically released on May 31, 2024 (जेठ १८, २०८१).
