Storyline:
Chris and his girlfriend Rose go upstate to visit her parents for the weekend. At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.

Get Out is an American psychological horror film, marking the directorial debut of Jordan Peele, who also wrote and co-produced the movie. The cast features Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Lil Rel Howery, LaKeith Stanfield, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, Catherine Keener, and Betty Gabriel.
Filming began on February 16, 2016, in Fairhope, Alabama, with additional scenes shot at Barton Academy and the Ashland Place Historic District in Mobile, Alabama. The shoot lasted 23 days, with the house’s exterior and interior filmed just south of Fairhope.
The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival on January 23, 2017, and was released theatrically in the U.S. on February 24, 2017, by Universal Pictures. Get Out received widespread critical acclaim for its writing, direction, performances, and its sharp social commentary.
It grossed $255 million globally on a modest $4.5 million budget, earning a net profit of $124.3 million, making it one of the most profitable films of 2017.
The film was included in the top ten films of the year by the National Board of Review, the American Film Institute, and Time magazine. It won numerous awards, including the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for Peele at the 90th Academy Awards, and received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor (Kaluuya).
It also garnered five nominations at the 23rd Critics’ Choice Awards, two at the 75th Golden Globe Awards, and two at the 71st British Academy Film Awards. Get Out is frequently cited as one of the best films of the 21st century.
