Storyline:
In 1930s Oklahoma amid the region’s horrific dust storms, a woman (Sarah Paulson) is convinced that a sinister presence is threatening her family.

Hold Your Breath is an American psychological horror-thriller film directed by Karrie Crouse and Will Joines. Produced by Alix Madigan-Yorkin and Lucas Joaquin, the film stars Sarah Paulson, Amiah Miller, Annaleigh Ashford, Alona Jane Robbins, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
Initially, Claire Foy was cast as the lead in Hold Your Breath. However, the following month, Sarah Paulson replaced Foy, who had to drop out of the project due to scheduling conflicts.
Principal photography for the film began on August 5, 2022, in New Mexico. The production employed around 152 crew members from New Mexico and cast 153 local background actors. Filming locations included Stanley, Santa Fe, and Galisteo. By April 2024, the film’s title was officially changed to Hold Your Breath.
Hold Your Breath premiered in the Special Presentations section at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2024. Following its festival debut, the film was released as a Hulu original through Searchlight Pictures on October 3, 2024.
