The Continental: From the World of John Wick (or simply The Continental ) serves as a spin-off and a prequel in the John Wick franchise. It tells the background story of how Winston Scott, in an alternate history 1970s, came to his position as proprietor of the New York branch of “The Continental” chain of hotels, safe havens for professional assassins on the grounds of which no business may ever take place.
Neo noir crime-action drama television miniseries developed by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons where Coolidge and Ward served as showrunners for the series and wrote the scripts alongside Simmons and Ken Kristensen. Albert Hughes directed the first and third episodes, and Charlotte Brändström directed the second. The show stars Mel Gibson and Colin Woodell.

Untitled Caine film (TBA)
In May 2024, it was officially announced that a spin-off film centered around Caine was in development, with Donnie Yen reprising his role as the titular character. The script written by Robert Askins, will explore the continuing story that chronologically follows the final scene of John Wick: Chapter 4.
Untitled animated prequel film (TBA)
In April 2025, Lionsgate officially green-lit the project at CinemaCon, with Reeves confirmed to reprise his lead role through voice recording. Shannon Tindle is directing, with a script by Vanessa Taylor. The timeline was confirmed and will be chronologically before the first film.
John Wick: Chapter 5 (TBA)
In August 2020, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer announced a fifth film was also in development. It was supposed to be filmed back-to-back with the fourth film in early 2021 but in March 2021, Lionsgate opted to delay production and move forward with Chapter 4 first.
After the financial and critical success of Chapter 4, producer Erica Lee expressed that with projects expanding the universe in development, she was optimistic about a fifth film.
In November 2023, following the end of the writers and actors strikes, Lionsgate announced that the script for the fifth film was officially in development. Filming date still unknown.
John Wick: Under the High Table (TBA)
In November 2023, Chad Stahelski revealed that developments are underway for another spin-off television series. The plot of the series will take place chronologically after the events of Chapter 4 and will follow new characters who strive to usurp the High Table, while returning cast members of the franchise seek to maintain the current order.
Other potential projects
Lionsgate has a number of additional projects in various stages of development, set within the same fictional continuity as the John Wick films. Here are some potencial projects Atomic Blonde crossover, Nobody crossover, Sofia, The Bowery King, and Ballerina sequel.
