I Hate Luv Storys is a Hindi romantic comedy film written and directed by Punit Malhotra. Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Ronnie Screwvala’s UTV Motion Pictures, the film stars Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor. It was shot in Mumbai and Queenstown, New Zealand, with a soundtrack composed by Vishal–Shekhar and lyrics by Anvita Dutt Guptan, Kumaar, and Vishal Dadlani.
Released on July 2, 2010, I Hate Luv Storys became a box office hit, grossing ₹72 crore worldwide. The film received mixed-to-positive reviews from critics, who praised its novel concept, music, cinematography, humor, costumes, and the performances of the leads while criticizing its screenplay and pacing. At the 56th Filmfare Awards, it received four nominations, including Best Music Director for Vishal–Shekhar and Best Lyricist for Vishal’s song “Bin Tere.”
A promotional mobile video game based on the film was also released in 2010, further extending its reach to audiences.
