Jab We Met, released in 2007, is a beloved Hindi romantic comedy film directed by Imtiaz Ali and produced by Dhilin Mehta. The movie stars Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles, with Tarun Arora, Saumya Tandon, and Dara Singh in supporting roles.

The film primarily takes place in Mumbai, Bhatinda, and Shimla, and follows the story of Aditya Kashyap, a heartbroken businessman who boards a train and meets a talkative Punjabi girl named Geet Dhillon. After missing their train, Aditya and Geet embark on a journey together to her hometown, which leads to an unexpected love story that transforms them both. The film features music composed by Pritam with lyrics by Irshad Kamil.

Jab We Met was released in the UK a day before its worldwide release on October 25, 2007. The film was a critical and commercial success, grossing over ₹50.9 crore and becoming one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of the year. It has since achieved cult status and has been remade in Tamil as Kanden Kadhalai with a subsequent Telugu dubbed version titled Priya Priyathama.

The film received numerous accolades, including two awards at the 53rd Filmfare Awards for Best Actress (Kareena Kapoor) and Best Dialogue (Imtiaz Ali). At the 55th National Film Awards, Jab We Met won Best Female Playback Singer (Shreya Ghoshal) and Best Choreography (Saroj Khan) for the song “Yeh Ishq Hai”.
