Storyline:
The film is based on a journey embarked on by two friends, Prakash and Kiran, belonging to different castes in search of a missing hen, unaware of the tyranny brought by the fragile ceasefire during the Nepalese civil war.

Kalo Pothi: The Black Hen (Nepali: Kalo Pothi) is a drama film directed by Min Bahadur Bham. It is set in Mugu, a district in northwest Nepal, during the Nepalese Civil War (1996–2006).
Kalo Pothi was well-received both critically and commercially. It became the first Nepali film to be screened at the Venice Film Festival and won the Best Film award at the Critics’ Week section of the festival. The film was also selected as Nepal’s entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards but did not receive a nomination.
