About Movie:

Kangaroo Island marks Timothy David’s debut as a feature film director. Initially titled Animal, the name reflected the exploration of humans as unique creatures among animals. “It’s a beautiful film about the human animal and what sets it apart from other species,” David explained. The film balances tragedy and comedy, portraying characters navigating through challenges and hardships.

The film takes its name from Kangaroo Island in South Australia, where it was shot. It had its world premiere at the Adelaide Film Festival on November 3, 2024.

The film, supported by the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC), world premieres on the 50th Anniversary year of the SAFC short film of the same title, Kangaroo Island (1974).
