Storyline:

In the midst of the chaos following the Great Kanto Earthquake, a woman is massacred by the military police. The story is about a woman named Ito Noe, a women’s liberation activist. Noe grew up in a poor family but was inspired by Hiratsuka Raicho’s words, “In the beginning, women were the sun,” and moved to Tokyo without getting married. Yearning for freedom, she joined the Seito Society with a passion overflowing with vitality and protested the marriage system and social morality.

Kaze yo Arashi yo Gekijouban (風よ あらしよ 劇場版) is a Japanese drama film.”Kaze yo Arashi yo,” based on Yuka Murayama’s novel, which won the Yoshikawa Eiji Literary Prize. The story follows feminist activist Noe Ito, who fought against prejudice and the institution of marriage in the Taisho era. Directed by Tsuyoshi Yanagawa and scripted by Koichi Yajima, the film features music by Yuki Kajiura and stars Yuriko Yoshitaka, Eita Nagayama, Nao Matsushita, and Goro Inagaki.
