After Maamanithan (2022), director Seenu Ramasamy announced his next project, Kozhipannai Chelladurai, on November 23, 2023. Filming began the same day following a pooja ceremony at the Periyakulam Balasubramanian temple. The entire shoot, centered around Theni and Andipatti with a market set, was completed in 32 days, wrapping up on December 24, 2023.

Kozhipannai Chelladurai was selected for the 22nd Oakland International Film Festival, where it was screened on September 18, 2024. The film was released in theaters on September 20, 2024. The film received a U-certificate from the CBFC with a runtime of 122 minutes.
