Storyline:

Nikki, the protagonist, struggles with insomnia and is introduced to a pill that promises to help him sleep. However, the pill leads him into a vivid dream world where his desires manifest, causing him to confront his own reality and the consequences of his choices. Lucia is a Kannada psychological thriller drama film written, co-edited, and directed by Pawan Kumar. The film stars Sathish Ninasam and Sruthi Hariharan in lead roles, and it centers around the character Nikki, an usher in a theater who suffers from insomnia. After taking a special pill named Lucia, he becomes entangled in a dream world that blurs the line between fantasy and reality.

Lucia was notable for being the first Kannada film to be crowdfunded, which contributed to its unique production story. It premiered at the London Indian Film Festival, where it won the Best Film Audience Choice award. The film received critical acclaim for its innovative storytelling and narrative structure, leading to its recognition as a game changer in the Kannada film industry. It was also shortlisted by the Film Federation of India as India’s submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2013.
