Storyline:
Dashrath Manjhi, a poor man from the lowest caste, lived in a remote village blocked by a rocky mountain range. His wife Phaguniya, whom he deeply loved, tragically died when she fell while climbing the mountain to bring him food. Devastated, Dashrath resolved to carve a path through the mountain to prevent such tragedies. For 22 years, using only a hammer and chisel, he tirelessly worked until a path was finally carved out.

The film was directed by Ketan Mehta, who co-wrote it with Anjum Rajabali, Mahendra Jhakar, Varadraj Swami, and Shahzad Ahemad. The film stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Dashrath Manjhi along with Radhika Apte, Urmila Mahanta, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Gaurav Dwivedi.
