After overcoming some disbelief, J manages to convince young K and others of just who he is and why he’s there. With the help of Griffin (Michael Stuhlbarg), a being who can see all timelines, they track Boris down. J also learns a secret, something old Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) had never told him.
About Movie:
Men in Black 3 (stylized as MIB³) is an American science fiction action-comedy film inspired by the Marvel Comics series of the same name, itself based on the conspiracy theory about extraterrestrial life. The film was produced by Columbia Pictures and Amblin Entertainment in association with Parkes+MacDonald Image Nation and Hemisphere Media Capital, and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing.
It serves as the sequel to Men in Black II (2002), marking the third and final entry in the original Men in Black trilogy. Directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and written by Etan Cohen, the film stars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, and Josh Brolin, with Jemaine Clement, Michael Stuhlbarg, Bill Hader, and Emma Thompson in supporting roles.
The concept for the sequel emerged during the production of Men in Black II, with Smith proposing the idea to Sonnenfeld. Despite reports of tension between Smith and Sonnenfeld during the filming of the second movie, both returned alongside Jones by May 2010. David Koepp and Jeff Nathanson were later brought in for uncredited rewrites of Cohen’s original script.
Principal photography took place in two phases: November to December 2010, and again from April to June 2011, primarily in New York City. Initially, Sonnenfeld planned to shoot the film in 3D, but later opted for 2D with a 3D conversion during post-production.
Danny Elfman, who composed the scores for the previous films, returned to score Men in Black 3. With an officially reported production budget of $215 million, it ranks among the most expensive films ever made.
The film premiered at O2 World in Berlin on May 14, 2012, and was released theatrically in the United States on May 25. It received generally positive reviews, with critics praising the performances, particularly Brolin’s, and was seen as an improvement over Men in Black II. Grossing $654.2 million worldwide, it became the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2012 and the top-grossing film in the Men in Black series (unadjusted for inflation).
A standalone sequel, Men in Black: International, was released in 2019, featuring a new cast.
